Affiliate Marketing is blowing up in popularity as the hot new way to make money on the internet. It's great for many different reasons, but mainly because it enables people to make a little extra money on the side or earn a full time income from home if they put enough effort into it. And regardless of what you have been told, it really isn't all that hard as long as you start with the basics! I'm going to give you the low down on how you too can get into affiliate marketing, even if you don't know where to start.

As intimidating as it may seem at first, the term affiliate marketing is not the big bad monster it seems. It is used very freely and can actually describe many different processes. In simplest terms, its really just the act of a company having you sell their products for them, and in return they reward you with cash. Not too shabby, eh?

The natural progression of things usually leads to people asking how they're supposed to sell this stuff. Well hold your horses Tonto, let's bring up an even better question first; what is it that you want to sell? Or better yet, how do we find things to sell? This is what really trips people out, most every company online has an affiliate program that people can openly join. Zappo's? Definitely. Amazon? Check. Wanda's Wonderful World of Widgets? Sure. Give it a shot, go check out an online retailer right now that interests you. Search their site for an affiliate program, and ten bucks says you'll find one. Once you find your affiliate program page, read through the retailer's rules and conditions and all that good stuff, and make sure you find out how much they pay out in commission on each sale. Some programs offer a great rate, but some programs offer terrible rates. In this case it pays off in the end to research these programs thoroughly.

Now that we've got our product of choice selected, let's move on! Now the fun begins, we get to let the world know why they need this product in their life. What we're going to do is write an article explaining why everyone should buy this. The better your writing skills are, the bigger your income with this project will be. What happens now is that you need to go to Google and type in "article directory". These are where people submit articles on most every topic, which you should also do now. The more you submit your article to, the more money you can potentially make. The higher number of directories you submit to, the better of a turnout you will have with this venture. You should notice a section of each submission form called the resource box. This is where you want to put your affiliate link for the product so they know how to get to it and you still get credit for the sale.

Was this so hard? Not even close! What you have completed is referred to as article marketing, good job! This is a proven method of making some cash without a huge time investment, and once a person gets it nailed down can have awesome results.
