Credit Card Scams Are Real

By: Alisdair Cosgrove

Please remember that each credit card has it’s own particular package of rewards with certain advantages and terms for their use, when you are searching for a credit card to fit your nees.If you have no real knowledge of how credit cards work you can quickly find yourself in deep debt with no easy or fast way to recover from it.The money you earn is precious and the many credit card offers we receive on a yearly basis can be either a way to lose some of your earnings or if we’re lucky, some offers may actually include a low interest credit card opportunity.

Reguardless of what your credit standing is, there are some credit card companies who offer to let you use their credit card for a small upfront fee.At first it may seem to be a great deal, but the small fee is actually already charged to your small credit line on the card when you receive it and when interest is added immediately that small start-up fee becomes a large total balance on your first monthly statement. You have not used your new credit card to make one single purchase and about 25% of your total credit line has been used. There are some credit card companies that make all their profits at the expense of the people who don’t understand how to use their credit properly. When applying for a credit card it is a wise idea to study the credit card agreement and search for any thing that may hint of a scam, as the providers of some of these credit cards use certain policy terms to confuse the card applicants.

Nearly all of the credit card companies offer debt suspension as a service to their customers, because some of their customers may be facing circumstances which include debt from unpaid medical bills or an unexpected loss of income.Payments on the credit card’s balance can be suspended by the card provider, until some of the other debt problems are resolved. The credit card’s balance will sometimes have a fee added for this service but it seems like it is only taking advantage of someone who is already in debt trouble>There are some independent agencies that offer credit card protection for a fee, but if your cards are issued by a major credit card company they are already protected against loss or theft by that card company. The credit card protection companies usually waste your time and money and offer little compensation for your losses.

We all need to be aware of the credit card scams used to commonly take advantage of unsuspecting consumers who have little knowledge of how they are operated. The things we all should be learning are the best ways to use credit and the best times to not use it.Although credit cards can hinder the management of our debt, they can also help a great deal when you have an emergency situation and no cash is available to ease the problem. Credit card scams are there to take advantage of any of us who lets their guard down, so be on the alert when you are looking for a new credit card to use.
