Web Resources

Our investing goal is to beat the market return by combining the power of fundamental analysis and technical analysis. There are several useful resources out there on the internet that serve this purpose.

TheStreet.com
This site is an excellent place to briefly skim on news for specific companies. News alert on specific companies are displayed swiftly. There is also an occasional analysis on the economy or sectors. However, most of the useful analysis is geared towards encouraging readers to subscribe into RealMoney

TheMotleyFool
This site frequently has an excellent stock analysis on the headline and its discussion board. The stock analysis is geared to encourage readers to subscribe on their various subscriptions.  Access to the discussion board is limited to 30 days, as well. Afterwards, users have to pay yearly fee of $29.99 for that access.

Yahoo! Finance
It is convenient to check on delayed quotes due to its fast loading. Furthermore, you can look at the stock price, market capitalization, EPS and dividend in one single screen. Basically, this is where the whole research began. Yahoo! Finance include everything from balance sheet to the company's website that you are researching on. Access to discussion board is free too but we personally find that Yahoo! Finance's message board has too much spam and unreliable analysis.

BusinessWeek
It is an excellent resource to get a decent analysis on stock sectors and its trend. It is very useful if you want to gain an understanding of specific sectors in the economy that you want to invest in.

Investopedia
A good site to search for finance definition. Anyone unfamiliar with the terms in finance should definitely check this website up. It is worth the trip. Furthermore, Investopedia often publishes articles about personal finance.

Seeking Alpha
An excellent place to read about blogs of various financial commentators. Several well-known commentators such as Henry Blodget, Herb Greenberg and the like occasionally post their thoughts here. Not all comments are worth reading but the breadth of the bloggers posting their financial insights is really valuable.

StockCharts
This is a good resource to analyze a company's technical aspect. Graph is clean and neatly displayed. Furthermore, you can customize your own indicators if you ever use one. There is also a paid-subscription market-analysis by some of the well-known analysts such as John Murphy. The drawback is that Stockcharts only displays data up to three years.

SEC Website
You can find the company's 10-K here. 10-K is an annual document that a company has to submit. 10-K documents should be verified by auditors so it is more trustworthy than other resources.

The company's own website
Yep. This is an important one. Here, you can find everything from the management team, the company's products and press release. You can also read its annual report to get a better idea on how the company does business.

Annual Reports
They have the latest annual report for select companies. You don't have to visit five different websites to find annual reports for your potential investment and its competitors! It is all in one place, right here in this section.
